A huge amount of fragrant flowers and tulsi (around 2 tons/day) is offered at Shirdi Sai Baba Temple. With CSIR-CIMAP interventions under CSIR Aroma Mission, these flowers are being segregated and used to make fragrant incense sticks, serving as a source of income for 130 families. Efforts are on towards further value addition of extremely useful bioresources like lutein from marigold, rose water from rose and essential oils from tulsi.
