CSIR-CIMAP Research Centre, Hyderabad, organized a one-day awareness program on August 2, 2023, for 35 farmers and 3 horticulture officers from Prakasam District, Andhra Pradesh, under the CSIR-Aroma Mission Phase III. The staff organized a field visit to demonstrate the plantations of Lemongrass and Palmarosa. A practical demonstration on Lemongrass oil distillation was also organized. They were informed about the varieties and technologies developed by CIMAP and the activities and achievements of the CSIR-Aroma Mission. This program was organized in association with the Horticulture Department and the Collector, Prakasam District, Andhra Pradesh. Quality planting material of 12,000 slips of Lemongrass (var. Krishna) and 12 kg of Palmarosa seeds (var. PRC-1) was also distributed to the newly created farmer cluster by CIMAP, RC, Hyderabad, with the help of the Collector & Horticulture Department, Prakasam District (AP). An essential oil buyer was also invited to interact with farmers.
