Progress of Aromatic Crops Introduced in Arunachal Pradesh

Various aromatic crops introduced under CSIR Aroma Mission in different regions of Arunachal Pradesh are showing good vegetative growth. These include rose-scented geranium (PG-IIIM-101 variety), lavender, and Salvia sclarea (Clary sage). The rose-scented geranium was transplanted from Pulwama, Kashmir in Jammu and Kashmir to Boha village in Kalaktang, Arunachal Pradesh in the month of December 2018. The lavender plants were planted from Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir to different locations of Arunachal Pradesh (Kalaktang, Mechuka and Dirang) in the month of January 2019. A nursery of Salvia sclarea (Clary sage) was also established at Kalaktang, Arunachal Pradesh in February 2019.
