Skill development programme on “Agro and process technology, value addition and marketing of aromatic and industrially important crops” was organized for the farmers of Meghalaya by CSIR-IHBT, Palampur under CSIR Aroma mission from October 16-20, 2023. 22 farmers from East Khasi, West Khasi, South West Khasi, East Jaintia Hills, West Jaintia Hills, and Ri Bhoi districts of Meghalaya along with the staff of the Institute of Natural Resources, Shillong, Meghalaya participated in this program. Farmers were also exposed to various facilities in CSIR- IHBT such as hydroponic, aeroponic, tissue culture facility, food/fruit processing, beekeeping, shiitake mushroom, and bamboo museum, etc. The farmers also visited the progressive farmer's field and learned the basic steps of cultivation and value addition of aromatic plants.
